Pakistan Shaheens Continue Winning Streak with Thrilling Victory Over Bangladesh 'A'


The Pakistan Shaheens extended their winning streak in the Top End T20 series with a nail-biting three-wicket win over Bangladesh 'A' at the TIO Stadium in Darwin on Friday evening. This triumph marked their third consecutive victory, following impressive performances against Tasmania and Melbourne Renegades.


The Shaheens' opening duo, Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan, set the tone with a blistering 47-run partnership in just 34 deliveries. Haris led the charge with a quickfire 32, including two fours and three towering sixes, showcasing his aggressive batting style. Farhan complemented Haris with a steady 17, including one boundary, before falling to the opposition.


After a brief wobble, during which Abdul Faseeh contributed just nine runs, Omair Bin Yousuf and Usman Khan forged a crucial 46-run partnership to steady the ship. Their stand helped the Shaheens recover from 65 for three to 111 for four, setting the stage for a thrilling finish.

Despite losing a few wickets, Muhammad Irfan Khan and Jahandad Khan guided their team to victory with eight balls remaining. Their calm and composed approach under pressure ensured the Shaheens achieved the target, securing their fourth win in the series.

Earlier, the Shaheens restricted Bangladesh 'A' to 141 for five, thanks to a stellar performance from left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram. Akram claimed three wickets, including 15 dot balls, to restrict the opposition's scoring. Abbas and Mubasir chipped in with a wicket each, showcasing the Shaheens' bowling depth.


The Pakistan Shaheens will look to continue their winning streak when they face ACT Comets in their next Top End T20 Series fixture at the DXC Arena tomorrow. With momentum on their side, the Shaheens will aim to secure another victory and strengthen their position in the series.
